De gemeenteraad neemt binnenkort ook het besluit over de multifunctionele accommodatie die op terrein komt te staan.

Dinsdagavond 18 april werd het raadsvoorstel rondom de aanschaf van vergaderapparatuur aangenomen waarbij het college de raad vroeg om nog eens 2 ton extra vrij te maken om de nieuwe apparatuur aan te schaffen.

Bij het voorstel ontbrak de onderbouwing voor het extra budget. “Wanneer een budget gevraagd wordt waarin een duidelijke onderbouwing ontbreekt, dan wordt onze controlerende taak erg moeilijk gemaakt,” aldus raadslid Anthony Zoghbi.

Voorafgaand aan de raadsvergadering tijdens het forum van 4 april vroeg Zoghbi om een verdere onderbouwing van het gevraagde budget. Wethouder van Damme deed de toezegging om meer informatie te geven over de ramingen. “In het document dat werd toegestuurd werd duidelijk wat werd ingekocht maar gaf geen verklaring of onderbouwing van de ingeschatte prijzen die soms twee tot drie keer zo duur waren als in de winkel,” geeft Zoghbi aan. “We deden daarom zelf marktonderzoek en dat riep nog meer vragen op.” Vragen die Zoghbi dinsdagavond daarom ook stelde, maar helaas kwam hier voor de derde keer geen antwoord op. Hoewel het beperkte inzicht in de kosten voor vele partijen geen belemmering was om voor het voorstel te stemmen, stemde Wij. Rijswijk tegen.

“Het aanschaffen van de nieuwe ‘audiovisuele apparatuur’ is een goede zaak, maar als je belastinggeld uitgeeft dan moeten we wel in kunnen zien waaraan we dat geld uitgeven,” geeft Zoghbi aan. “Ook in de toekomst zullen we scherp blijven op de financiën van Rijswijk.”
