TBT: Last weekend VVD International again successfully organised the Partnership Day and annual Ambassador Day during the VVD spring congress in Papendal. Twelve delegates from our liberal friends represented their party during different sessions about campaigning and talent management in the interest of promoting closer cooperation within the liberal political family. Additionally, 20 EU ambassadors and other international guests attended our annual Ambassador Day. They had a pleasant panel discussion about the main priorities of the Dutch foreign policy together with Bente Becker MP, Anne Mulder MP, Hans van Baalen MEP and the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Stef Blok, moderated by Kamran Ullah. #Gaaf

Last weekend, 30 liberal female politicians from across Europe running in elections in the near future came together in Jodoigne, Belgium, for the first session of the 2018 European Women's Academy. The European Women's Academy, or EWA, is an annual training programme of the European Liberal Forum with the support of the ALDE, for female politicians aimed at equipping them with the knowledge and tools to be successful in their upcoming elections and in their future political careers. This year's edition two talents from the VVD, Liesje and Inge, are part of this inspiring group of #gaaf people. From the 1st to the 4th of March, liberal parties from 24 African countries gathered in Accra, Ghana, for the General Assembly of the African Liberal Network (ALN). VVD International has been proud to co-sponsor this event, and in particular a panel discussion on the topic of "Intra-Arab Trade - Challenges and Opportunities". During the panel discussion (and the entire weekend of course), our partners from the Arab Liberal Federation (ALF) had the opportunity to present their recommendations on improving trade in the Arab and Northern-African regions and exchange experiences with sister organisations from other parts of the African continent. On behalf of ALF and the VVD delegation, we would like to thank ALN and the Progressive People's Party of Ghana for being the perfect hosts. Curious about the event? Africa Liberal Network

The ALN met in Accra, Ghana from 2 to 4 March 2018 for its annual General Assembly. This year we were hosted by ALN member party, the Progressive People's Party (PPP) of Ghana, where they helped us welcome member parties from 24 African countries, and partners from various European countries. Delegates met to discuss ALN matters as well as the theme of this year’s General Assembly: “More Freedom & Fairness: The Pursuit of Growing Africa’s Economy”.

We’re back in business for 2018! The last weekend of January VVD campaign tigers Annemarie and Barry joined our Slovenian sister party Stranka SMC for their campaign leaders days to run an interactive workshop on the use of social media. Many thanks to SMC for hosting Barry and Annemarie, the ALDE and FNF for their support, and last but by far not least the participants for their active contributions 💪

The year 2017 is a wrap! With one final workshop for new parliamentarians and candidate MPs from different sister parties from the Central and South-Eastern European region. Plenty of discussion and questions on topics such as “I am a new MP, now what?”, and on “How to be a good opposition or coalition MP?”, while also new friendships were formed. Many thanks to HNS for hosting us and we’re looking catch up with everyone and their new experiences next year 👊
