Great news! 3 weeks ago we posted about the orange PMD bags. Apartment residents can now get free PMD bags at several locations. This makes it easier to separate plastic packaging, cans and drink cartons. You can now also pick them up on campus at The Sustainability Office, Forum room 239 Tue/Wed/Thu 12:30 - 13:45! Today we met with Netwerk ChangeMakersWageningen, a great organisation that brings youth and students closer to voluntary work. Who would not want to spend an hour less on Netflix and get an amazing experience in and with society in return? Let us know how you get involved with Wageningen city!

Last week we continued our journey to prevent stress and burn-outs. Together with Student Alliance Wageningen and Happiness4all we had a fruitful conversation about how we can reach out to and support students coping with stress and burn-out symptoms. We shared great ideas and are going to figure out how we can further build upon them.

Smart mobility is the future. Or is it? Today we attended an inspiring symposium about smart mobility and what it could mean for Wageningen. Examples from student city Nijmegen to how companies are committed to encouraging their employees to use smarter transportation lead to interesting discussions. Presentations and input from FoodValley, WUR, Gelderland Province, Wageningen Municipality, and researchers highlight the necessity for a multi-disciplinary approach. It was definitely an inspiring afternoon that boosted our creativity to further think about how to improve Wageningens mobility issues. #smart #mobility

Stress, depression and burn-out symptoms among students is dramatically increasing. Pressure to perform, student debts or finding housing all contribute to this trend. Stress is also the #1 health problem among employees. Together with Startpunt Wageningen who provides social advice and services and Student Alliance Wageningen who commits to student issues we talked about how we can make stress, depression and burn-outs more acceptable to talk about and which actions we can take to address the growing issue.

Wageningen is rich in locally organised social initiatives. One of them is community hub, THUIS. Thuis was founded 3 years ago and has since been a valuable contribution to Wageningen. It has evolved into a place for joint activities, where you can meet new people, and experience different cultures. Thuis has been nominated for "the best community house of the year" and can win €3000,- to continue their great work for the city. Will you vote?
