From the 1st to the 4th of March, liberal parties from 24 African countries gathered in Accra, Ghana, for the General Assembly of the African Liberal Network (ALN). VVD International has been proud to co-sponsor this event, and in particular a panel discussion on the topic of "Intra-Arab Trade - Challenges and Opportunities". During the panel discussion (and the entire weekend of course), our partners from the Arab Liberal Federation (ALF) had the opportunity to present their recommendations on improving trade in the Arab and Northern-African regions and exchange experiences with sister organisations from other parts of the African continent. The ALN met in Accra, Ghana from 2 to 4 March 2018 for its annual General Assembly. This year we were hosted by ALN member party, the Progressive People's Party (PPP) of Ghana, where they helped us welcome member parties from 24 African countries, and partners from various European countries. Delegates met to discuss ALN matters as well as the theme of this year’s General Assembly: “More Freedom & Fairness: The Pursuit of Growing Africa’s Economy”.
