Another throwback (because it's Tuesday): in April VVD International supported the European Liberal Forum Expert Forum on Priorities for the EU budget, as part of a series of expert forums that was organised around Europe on topical matters and challenges for the upcoming elections for the European Parliament. The expert sessions were part of a new way the ALDE party is considering its manifesto for the 2019 elections. Check out the summary the ALDE Party published:

Fifth Manifesto Forum: EU budget

Politicians and experts, including ALDE Party President Hans van Baalen MEP, came together on 21 April to discuss on the priorities of the EU budget. This is the fifth of a series of events organised around Europe as the ALDE Party considers its 2019 manifesto.

TBT: Last weekend VVD International again successfully organised the Partnership Day and annual Ambassador Day during the VVD spring congress in Papendal. Twelve delegates from our liberal friends represented their party during different sessions about campaigning and talent management in the interest of promoting closer cooperation within the liberal political family. Additionally, 20 EU ambassadors and other international guests attended our annual Ambassador Day. They had a pleasant panel discussion about the main priorities of the Dutch foreign policy together with Bente Becker MP, Anne Mulder MP, Hans van Baalen MEP and the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Stef Blok, moderated by Kamran Ullah. #Gaaf

Last weekend, 30 liberal female politicians from across Europe running in elections in the near future came together in Jodoigne, Belgium, for the first session of the 2018 European Women's Academy. The European Women's Academy, or EWA, is an annual training programme of the European Liberal Forum with the support of the ALDE, for female politicians aimed at equipping them with the knowledge and tools to be successful in their upcoming elections and in their future political careers. This year's edition two talents from the VVD, Liesje and Inge, are part of this inspiring group of #gaaf people.
