Onze Koen Jansen heftig in discussie met de andere fracties. 5% van de woningen per straat mag een studentenwoning, dat is een mooie balans vinden de andere partijen! Koen geeft aan dat het woord 'balans' ver te zoeken is in een stad waar 27% van de inwoners student is. Bovendien is het vreemd dat de andere partijen alleen over studentenwoningen spreken, omdat het voorliggende voorstel over 5% kamergewijze verhuur gaat, en daar vallen ook jongeren, PhDers, ook starters en ook anderen onder. Andere steden hebben 15% kamergewijze verhuur. Waarom zijn D66 en Groenlinks en de andere voor deze 5%??? On the 17th of May, this Friday, there will be a climate march to demonstrate distress about the current state of our climate and biodiversity, in a protest against the local and national government. Connect Wageningen has chosen to not take part in the march, as we do not agree with their protest against “seeming inability of local” government. In Wageningen, the city council is pro-climate measures and there are already plans in motion to reach our ambitious goals. It is awesome to see that everyone is so involved with the subject and we would really like to encourage you to not only march in protest, but also turn your concerns into something productive. Talk, message, email, call and fax your city representatives to see what they are working on and if you really disagree with the measures our city is taking. When you want to make or change policies afterwards, then the city council parties will help you realise it! Everyone is welcome to help Wageningen reduce greenhouse gas emissions! If you would like to take part in the march, it starts at 13:00 at the WUR building Atlas (Droevendaalsesteeg 4) and then you will march to the municipality of Wageningen (arriving at 16:00). As a municipality, we must draw up an environmental plan. A long-term plan for the entire physical environment. We would like to involve residents in this process. A proposal is to do that via co-creation. But what exactly is co-creation? Is this the right strategy? And in which phases is it most important to involve residents? Yesterday, Mark Reijerman represented Connect Wageningen during the political evening on this subject. In two weeks, the city council will vote on the plans. #housing #wageningen #politics #students

Monday, January 14th is the first political evening of the year! On the agenda are Kirpestein (new student housing on the Churchillweg), the developments of the Aula, and the ‘council wishes’. Curious about what everyone has to say? Or do you have new year’s resolutions to be more involved with politics and / or the city? Then come to the city hall on Monday at 19:30! See you there!

A solar farm at the Haarweg! The city council will decide on the 10th of December whether the plans are accepted and get a green light. An interesting political issue regarding the climate goals, the nature surrounding Wageningen and the impact on the environment of the neighbors. Nog 68 dagen tot Kerstmis

De zomer schijnt nu wel echt voorbij te zijn. Het is midden oktober en de pompoenen mogen zo weer de kast uit. Je geloofd ons niet als we zeggen dat het over 68 dagen kerst is, maar toch is het zo. Dit is te merken aan de eerste pepernoten die in de supermarkten liggen en de sfeervolle...
