Op grote schaal Russisch militair materieel inkopen, (betrapte) Russische spionnen niet de deur wijzen en tegen een VN-resolutie stemmen die de Russische bezetting van de Krim veroordeelt. Dit gedrag valt te verwachten van een aantal landen, maar niet van een kandidaat-lidstaat van de EU. Toch? Ja dus, want Servië doet dit wel, ondanks de vorderende onderhandelingen met de Europese Commissie (EC) om toe te treden tot de EU. Dit roept bij mij serieuze vragen op. Ik wil: 1. Zeker stellen dat de nieuwe Eurocommissarissen hiervan op de hoogte zijn, 2. Dat de EC uitlegt hoe het kan dat een kandidaat-lidstaat rechtstreeks indruist tegen het EU-buitenlandbeleid, 3. Dat de EC hiervoor een speciale strategie ontwikkelt en dit jaarlijks rapporteert aan het EP! Zie hieronder de vragen.

Serbia, a candidate country to the European Union, backs Russia in UN Resolution on Crimea and Sevastopol.

 

​ In the United Nations General Assembly on 9 December 2019, Serbia voted against a resolution condemning Russia’s occupation of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Furthermore, the resolution urges the Russian Federation to withdraw its military forces and reaffirmed Ukraine’s sovereignty over Crimea. The resolution was approved, with full support of the EU member-states.

As Serbia is a candidate country for accession to the EU and with negotiations ongoing, it is startling to behold Serbia's vote, as it is divergent from the EU member-states stance. Moreover, the EU has imposed sanctions on Russia, condemning the occupation of Crimea and its involvement in Eastern Ukraine. This raises questions on Serbia’s position toward Russia and whether Serbia’s and the EU’s interests are aligned. 1 2 3

- Can the EC explain why Serbia voted against this resolution and is this vote in line with the expectations the EC has for a candidate EU-member?

- Is the EC also concerned about the Serbian-Russian ties, taking into account this vote but also Serbia's acquirement of Russian military equipment and the soft Serbian response towards Russia concerning the activity of Russian spies in Serbia? 4

- What will be the EC's strategy and assessment of this situation and could this be included in its yearly ‘Serbia report', and will you keep the EP informed?

Hans Bonnier heeft aangegeven de 3e zetel te willen innemen binnen de VVD fractie en in de Gemeenteraad. Hans zal naar verwachting 31 oktober 2019 geïnstalleerd worden.  

Judith Tesser volgt Gaby op als fractievoorzitter VVD Nuenen m.i.v. 1 november a.s.

Daarnaast willen we ook aangeven dat Johan van Bruggen afscheid neemt als burgercommissielid voor de commissie Ruimte. 

Wij hebben in Alex Appel een goede opvolger gevonden. Alex wordt naar verwachting 26 september a.s. tijdens de Raadsvergadering geïnstalleerd.

VVD Hollands Kroon heeft tijdens de raadsvergadering tegen het raadsvoorstel gestemd om extra subsidie te verlenen aan RTV Noordkop. Woordvoerder Enno Bijlstra sprak namens de fractie uit dat €23.103,- extra subsidie (€50.000,- in totaal), voor iets waarvan de toegevoegde maatschappelijke waarde niet bewezen is, onverantwoord is.

Tijdens de raadsvergadering van 28 augustus 2018, is Fopke Klok benoemd als commissielid voor de Eindhovense VVD.

Hij zal zich de komende periode bezighouden met financiën, P&O, Dienstverlening, Herindeling Nuenen, Toezicht, Bezwaar en Beroep en Cultureel Vastgoed.
